Research Interests
The role of fire and alternatives to fire in managing wildlife habitats have
been the major focal areas of my research program. I have worked in various
upland habitats including pine flatwoods/dry prairies, longleaf pine sandhills,
and pine/hardwood mixed forests. Additionally, I am interested in ecological
functioning of ephemeral wetlands that are embedded within upland forest and
prairie communities.
Graduate Students
The vast majority of my research is done vicariously through my graduate
students. I have the greatest respect for my graduate students and I try to
support their work as much as possible. My current students and their respective
