PTECS is dedicated to:
- Providing an Enhanced Learning Experience for students in tropical ecology & conservation
- Developing New Knowledge to improve our understanding of tropical ecology & natural resource conservation in the tropics
- Delivering Outreach & Extension to enrich ecological understanding & conservation for the people of Belize and the tropics.
Our Team has been working in Belize on Wildlife, Ecological, and Natural Resource Education, Research & Outreach/Extension for 12+ years. We work together with several partners, including the Tropical Education Center & Belize Zoo, Friends for Conservation & Development & Las Cuevas Research Station, and Marine Tropical Research & Education Center to deliver our collaborative programs.

Michael Andreu - A professor in the School of Forest Resources & Conservation, University of Florida focusing on the ecology & management of forests and other ecosystems, including fire ecology, and forest & savanna management.
Bill Giuliano - A professor in the Department of Wildlife Ecology & Conservation, University of Florida focusing on wildlife management, including forest management impacts on wildlife, game management, felid-prey-habitat relationships, & scarlet macaw ecology & conservation.
Adam Willcox - A research professor in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, & Fisheries, University of Tennessee focusing of the human dimensions of natural resource conservation, including conservation behavior, community-based natural resource management, and participation in policy processes.
Emma Willcox - A professor in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, & Fisheries, University of Tennessee focusing wildlife ecology & conservation, including wildlife-habitat relationships, avian ecology, & bat ecology & conservation.
