Mapping your T: and U: drives

The WEC department has network file storage for multiple uses. Our T: Drive is used for shared documents and lab folders. Our U: drive is your personal folder for file storage. If you are a new student and wish to have a U: Drive folder, please send an email to Tom Barnash to request one.

You can set these drives manually by following these instructions:
*Note: If using a personal laptop, you must connect to the VPN before mapping to a drive or accessing a shared printer. VPN instructions can be found here.

  1. Right-click on your My Computer, and select "Map Network Drive..." from the menu.
  2. You will see the following window appear:
  3. For the Drive letter, select T:
  4. For the folder, put this address: \\ad.ufl.edu\ifas\wec\private\
  5. You will be prompted for your username and password, you need to enter UFAD\gatorlinkusername in the username box, and your gatorlink password for the password. (See picture of this step)
  6. Select Finished.

Similar instructions are needed for the U: drive.

  1. Right-click on your My Computer, and select "Map Network Drive..." from the menu.
  2. You will see the following window appear:
  3. For the Drive letter, select U:
  4. For the folder, the address depends on whether you are faculty, staff, or student, and your gatorlink name. If you are a student, you would put \\ad.ufl.edu\ifas\wec\users\students\gatorlinkname\, where your gatorlink name would be what you login to the network with. So if I was a student, I would put \\ad.ufl.edu\ifas\wec\users\students\barnasht\ in this box. If you are faculty, use faculty\gatorlinkname, and staff would use staff\gatorlinkname.
  5. You will be prompted for your username and password, you need to enter UFAD\gatorlinkusername in the username box, and your gatorlink password for the password. (See picture of this step)*
  6. Select Finished.
